Massive Protest Planned on February 25 Over Delay in Harchowal-Dalla Morh Road Construction

Sri Hargobindpur Sahib, February 18, 2025 (Jaspal Chandan): The incomplete construction of the road from Harchowal to Dalla Morh, pending for the past 15-16 years, has severely impacted transportation for 35 villages, causing widespread public outrage. The poor condition of the road has led to numerous accidents, including a recent incident in which a young man from Bhamri village lost his life, while several others have been injured. Residents have repeatedly appealed to the government and relevant authorities for action. On September 24, the Member of Parliament from Hoshiarpur laid the foundation stone for the road’s construction, but the work was halted after covering only a few kilometers. The lack of repairs has left the people struggling with immense difficulties. Demanding immediate completion of the road, local residents have issued a warning that if work does not resume immediately, a massive gathering will be held at Harchowal Chowk on February 25. This announcement was made by Jagtar Singh Khalsa. Several prominent individuals from the region, including Dilbagh Singh Basrawa, Jagtar Singh Khalsa, President Balwinder Singh, Baba Narinder Singh, Jaspal Singh Fauji, Sukhdev Singh Fauji, Randhir Singh, Jathedar Bakhshish Singh, Balraj Singh, Rajwinder Singh Raja, Baba Gurdev Singh Arhtiya, Sarabjit Singh, Major Singh, Sarwan Singh Bhala, Ranjit Singh Rana Bhamri, Bhagwant Singh Randhawa, Kulwinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Dr. Amarjit Singh Dhaliwal, and Dr. Bhupinder Singh Gill, participated in the meeting. The residents have urged the administration to begin repairs at the earliest to prevent further accidents and ensure safe travel for the affected communities..
